I'm a teacher in China but I'm from Melbourne, Australia and miss it like crazy (I want to see my mates, eat some cheese, get some Nando's, watch Chaser's War on Everything, get high, go camping, look at a blue sky, have a barbie, eat kangaroo, speak in English, not be looked at weirdly, watch something on TV other than Chinese soap operas based in the 15th century, get chicken from KFC and beef from Mcdonalds and not the other way around, assert my right to fuck other girls with my boyfriend, go to the beach, get a bag of doritos, wear a seatbelt, pay 10 times what something actually cost to make, not step in spit, listen to whatever the hell new music is around, know what is actually in fashion, not be scared I'm going to get food poisoning at the next restaurant I go to, laugh at the government, not be responsible for 40 screaming six year-olds, eat with a fork, drink from the tap, dance like a crazy person, look to the right when I cross the road, and have more of a choice than rice for dinner). I live in Shunde (birthplace of Bruce Lee) which is near Guangzhou. It's an hour or two from Hong Kong. I have a boyfriend whom I love. We've been together since 2002 (awwwww :-) ) He's also a teacher, and has been doing kung fu for five years. I love my job. I teach English to grades 1-6. My surrogate children will keep me cluck-free for many years to come! I am an Optimist. I believe that people are essentially good. I think that temptation is a hard thing to overcome. I feel that if you do good things, then good will come back to you. I believe that hope is sometimes all we have - or need.
